First steps into learning
Southern Christian College operates two free First Steps Into Learning programs for children from birth to 4 years of age. The First Steps program provides an informal, engaging and nurturing learning environment for children and their parents from birth to 5 years of age with the aim of helping prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond.
Our program, run by an experienced, qualified Early Childhood teacher, includes gross motor, fine motor, sensory, imaginative and creative play activities. Children and parents engage together in a supportive Christian environment.
The First Steps program is run on the premises of the Kingston Early Learning Centre during school terms.
All families are required to complete an enrolment form on their first visit with contact details and photo permissions. There is a sign-in process for each session. Tea and coffee facilities are provided.
Both groups are free and held every Friday during school terms from 9:30am to 11:30am.
0 - 3 year olds attend our Early Learning Centre for an opportunity to play with other children and explore our indoor and outdoor learning environments.
3 - 4 year olds familiarise themselves with a classroom space in our Kinder room and enjoy an introduction into more structured play.
