Service & action
Service & Action encourages students to consider their roles and responsibilities in relation to their community.
You must give time to our fellow man – even if it’s a little thing, do something for others – something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.
Albert Schweitzer
Secondary students at Southern Christian College are required to be part of the Service & Action program. This encourages students to consider their roles and responsibilities in relation to the community and undertake some action that supports greater community involvement.
Understanding the significance and potentially transformational nature of service is an important aspect of a student’s growth and personal maturity. Service is an important faith concept and students’ actions should be consistent with Christ’s call to “serve one another in love.” (Galatians 5:13b)
